Oribi Gorge Guest Farm features self-catering accommodation near the beach communities of South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. As a working sugarcane plantation, situated on the Oribi Gorge, it is within easy reach of Port Shepstone, Shelly Beach, Uvongo and Margate and about 150km south of Durban. Oribi Gorge Guest Farm provides both a pastoral farm stay and a seaside holiday venue - two holidays in one. Accommodation is in the tastefully refurbished Shuttleworth House (c. 1930), Nerrily Cottage and Lindile Lodge. Farm guests can enjoy horseback riding, mountain bike and ATV riding, bass fishing, an abundance of bird life for birdwatchers, an animal petting park for children, and game viewing at a nearby reserve. The farm has its own 4x4 offroad vehicle track that runs along the gorge. Just 34km away is the Shelly Centre, one of KZN's most attractive malls with in excess of 100 shops, including Pick 'n Pay, Woolworths, The Hub and Clicks and six SterKinekor cinemas. Deep sea fishing to the Protea reef with an experienced skiboat crew can be a rewarding, and freezer-filling exercise. The South Coast offers golfers their choice of a number of carefully manicured golf courses. One of the closest is Port Shepstone Country Club. Breath-taking Oribi Gorge, just 25 minutes from Port Shepstone, might well be described as an African Grand Canyon. Although it is not as deep or long, the comparison is indisputable as you view the Mzimkulwana River wending its way through lush pristine wilderness between the precipitous rocky gorge walls.

Accommodation for 10 is provided in the farm's refurbished Shuttleworth House (circa 1930), where each of the five bedrooms is decorated in a floral theme. Visitors sleep soundly in the Lavender Room, Rose Room, Hydrangea Room (two bedroom suite) or the Bridal Bouquet Suite.

Shuttleworth House features a spacious kitchen with modern appliances, a huge family dining table and lounge suitable for a large family or small group meeting.

The farm's second guest house is the delightful Nerrily Cottage. The Africa theme in Nerrily Cottage puts one in mind of the night before a big safari. Dream about wildlife in its natural habitat as you rest in Nerrily's accommodation for 8 (including 1 day-beds). Each of the three bedrooms is finished Africa-style - the Namaqualand Room, Out of Africa Room, or exquisite Savannah Room. Nerrily Cottage features a spacious kitchen with modern appliances, a large family dining table and an extended lounge suitable for a large family or small group meeting.

Oribi Gorge Guest Farm offers visitors two holidays in one. With the beaches in easy reach guests can vary their seaside recreational activities with horseback, ATV and motorbike riding on farm roads, games of squash or tennis on farm courts, bass fishing, and 4x4 game viewing at a nearby game reserve. Little ones will find the farm's petting park a true delight with dwarf goats, dwarf bunnies, ducks and several little people-friendly pigs.

Once you've checked in at Oribi Gorge Guest Farm you'll be able to make daytrips to Port Shepstone, Shelly Beach and the rest of the coastal beach communities. The nice thing is that no matter where you go you'll never be very far from your home on the farm.

The Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve borders the Langton's sugarcane farm and a short walk or drive will take one to spectacular views of the Gorge, one of the continent's truly unspoilt beauty spots. There is a second gorge nearby through which the Umzimkulu river flows, making Oribi flats where the farm is situated a picturesque plateau between two river valleys.
