Welcome to our luxury lodge, located in Hibberdene on the South Coast of Kwazulu-Natal, 40 minutes from Durban International airport. Located on a high point in Hibberdene, we are blessed with 180 degree ocean views and wafting breezes off the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Within a 10 minute walk you will find our stunning swimming beach and some of the finest rock and surf angling in the area. The KZN South Coast abounds with activities and attractions that cater for adrenalin junkies, shopaholics, art lovers and those who just want to relax without exerting themselves. We also have a fully equipped conference and function centre.

Splendidly situated the "Home of Water" is a distinctive thatched lodge ideally situated just 2,5km off the N2 highway, adjacent the R102 Old South Coast Road, midway between Durban and Port Edward in Catalina Bay in the scenic village Hibberdene, the gateway to the Hibiscus Coast of Kwazulu Natal.With the most unbelievable sea views and a certain ambience of peace and tranquillity,Khaya La Manzi offers a secure relaxed atmosphere for both holidays and conferences.

Khaya La Manzi Guest Lodge offers the perfect stopover for those travelling South to Cape Town, the Garden Route, Eastern Cape, Port St Johns on the Wild Coast as well as the inland route to Kokstad and the Transkei. Alternatively for those travelling North the location is en route to the Southern Drakensberg, Durban International Airport, North Coast, Richards Bay and St Lucia.

We are a family run Guest House and Conference venue specializing in personal service and offering comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. No need to stay at different venues, as most attractions are easily accessible from Khaya La Manzi. Cultural/Adventure/Dive/Golf Tours can be arranged. Discounted rates are offered for longer stays as well as business travellers.

With our superbly elevated position offering magnificent breaker views of the Indian Ocean in a malaria free area. Savour a glorious breakfast while maybe being fortunate enough to witness the famous annual sardine run or watching whales and dolphins. Enjoy your favourite tipple in our cosy pub or 'ondeck'. Khaya La Manzi has much to offer as a stress free relaxed seaside venue for leisure and business being 90 odd kilometres South of Durban.

Being +/- 1km from a Blue Flag protected swimming beach and ski-boat launch site, take a stroll along vast stretches of open sand to the tidal pool, explore the fantastic marine life or find a serene fishing spot. Visitors may choose any of the numerous attractions and activities all down the length of South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal South Coast from playing a round of golf at one of ten nearby golf courses to extreme adventure in Oribi Gorge or on and in the sea choosing ones own ocean safari. For the less adventurous there is bird watching, nature trails, lighthouses, arts and crafts or find a book in our library and relax in the courtyard garden or next to the pool. You will be spoilt for choice at Khaya La Manzi.

We offer 7 air-conditioned suites with private entrances, TV, all en-suite bath/shower with kitchenettes comprising fridge, microwave and kettle with complementary tea & coffee.

5 Suites are King Size which can be converted into 2 singles. 2 Suites have a mezzanine with queen size beds downstairs and 2 singles upstairs, up to 4 persons.

Rooms are serviced daily. Breakfast in our dining area is served from 7am to 9:30am, choice of full English or Continental. Arrangements can be made for earlier breakfasts.

Accommodation

Enjoy the seasonal Whale migration, the Sardine Run, and sleep to the soothing sounds of the Indian Ocean waves breaking in the background in this sub-tropical location with warm winters.

Choose your comfort level in this PRIVATE FACILITY from air-conditioned en-suite rooms, to suites in the main thatched lodge, from single to kingsize beds. Depending on your choice options range from crisp white percale linen and towels, TV’s in rooms, complimentary toiletries as well as coffee/tea, homemade breakfast to those who have to ‘control the budget’ and only need a bed.

No servicing off units, linen changed weekly, B&B may request servicing at a fee.

Directions

Travelling from Durban, take the N2 South. Take the Hibberdene R102 exit just past a massive Michael Frey's sign. Turn left at the bottom of this ramp, and continuing for +/- 2 km, watching for the David Drive signboard, turn right into David Drive and follow the Khaya La Manzi signs. Travelling from Port Shepstone on the N2 take the Hibberdene exit. Turn right at the bottom of the off ramp and continue for +/- 2 km, watching for the David Drive signboard, turn right into David Drive and follow the Khaya La Manzi signs. Alternatively take the scenic route from Port Shepstone along the R102 for +/- 22km crossing the Mzimayi River Bridge entering Hibberdene. At the traffic lights turn left and immediately right into Riviera Highway follow the road past SAPS up the hill for 500 metres to Khaya La Manzi on the left hand side
