From the pool deck or your own private balcony, you have an expansive 180§ sea view, where you can relax and watch whales & dolphins which abound during the natural phenomenon of the annual sardine run, the greatest shoal on earth

The Albatros Guesthouse is situated within walking distance of the beach and bustling village, while at the same time remains a secluded hideaway, with only the sound of birds and crashing waves, and a breathtaking, expansive 180º view of the Indian Ocean.

From the pool deck or from your own private balcony, you can relax and watch whales and dolphins, passing cargo ships, or merely the vastness and splendour of it all.

ACCOMMODATION

Each of our luxury, air-conditioned rooms has an en-suite or private bathroom, TV, tea and coffee, and balcony with sea view. Breakfast is served on the pool deck in the mornings overlooking the ocean ... a great way to start the day.

Room 1
Double room with private bathroom: This room is situated on the second storey of the guesthouse, overlooking the the pool and entertainment area. It is air-conditioned and carpeted, with plenty of cupboard space, TV, twin or king beds, tea tray and glass sliding doors opening out onto a huge private balcony with stunning sea view. The private bathroom across the passage has bath and separate shower.

Room 2
Double en-suite room: This room is situated on the second storey of the guesthouse, overlooking the the pool and entertainment area. It is air-conditioned and carpeted with a walk-in cupboard, TV, twin or king beds, tea tray and glass sliding doors opening out onto a large private balcony with stunning sea view. The en-suite bathroom has a corner bath and separate shower.

Room 3
Luxury double en-suite room: This room is situated on the third storey of the guesthouse and has the best view in the house. It is air-conditioned and carpeted, with plenty of cupboard space, TV, twin or king beds, tea tray and glass sliding doors opening out onto a large private balcony with stunning panoramic sea view. The en-suite bathroom has bath and separate shower.

Room 3
Family suite: Room 3 (as above) has a small second room next to it, which is air-conditioned and carpeted with built-in cupboard, but with no balcony or sea view. It is suitable to accommodate up to 2 children, sharing the bathroom with the main room. These 2 bedrooms and bathroom shared, are separated from the rest of the house by a single entrance door, making up a suite perfect for a family of up to 4 people.

Room 4
Luxury double en-suite room: This room is situated on the second storey of the guesthouse and is the most spacious room in the house. It is air-conditioned and carpeted, with plenty of cupboard space, TV, twin or king beds, tea tray and glass sliding doors opening out onto a small private balcony with stunning sea view. The very large en-suite bathroom has a huge round bath, double hand basin and separate shower. This is ideal for honeymooners.

Room 5
Double en-suite room with lounge: This suite is situated on the second storey of the guesthouse, and consists of a double en-suite room and lounge with glass sliding doors opening out onto a private sea-facing balcony. The bedroom is air-conditioned and carpeted, with plenty of cupboard space and twin or king beds. The bathroom has bath and separate shower. TV and tea tray in the lounge.

Room 5 + 2
Luxury family suite: Room 2 leads into the lounge of Room 5 and can be utilised as a suite suitable for a family of 4, comprising of 2 double en-suite bedrooms and a lounge.

Directions

From Durban: Take the N2 south (Port Shepstone); This road will take you all the way to Margate; At Hibberdene you can either stay on the toll road (N2) or take the alternative route; (Marine Drive) all the the way to Margate. Southbound on N2: Take the Margate off ramp. Turn left into Seaslopes road & head towards the sea until you get to a T-junction with traffic lights; Turn right into Marine Drive and carry on through the first traffic lights. At the second traffic lights, the road will fork, and you will stay left on Marine Drive; This will wind its way through the village of Margate, passing the Margate Hotel on your left; Once you have passed the Standard Bank & Shoprite on your right, you will take the first right turn into Uplands road. Take the first left into Homestead Road; The Albatros Guesthouse is the 5th house on the right, No 20 Homestead Rd. From the Wild Coast: Take the N2 until the Ramsgate off ramp on the left; Follow this road as it winds its way through Ramsgate, and take the Margate, Marine Drive turn to the right. Follow Marine Drive until you get to an intersection where you will see First National Bank on your right & 'Clicks' on your left; Turn left into Uplands Road; Take the first left into Homestead Road; The Albatros Guesthouse is the 5th house on the right, No 20 Homestead Rd.
